Q: What is BioCote®?
A: BioCote® is a unique patent protected anti-microbial powder coating that inhibits the growth of micro-organisms - some potentially lethal - on surfaces.
Q: How long does it last?
A: The active agent in BioCote® protected lockers is non-leaching silver ions. The anti-microbial property continues to function for the life of the powder coating.
Q: How is it applied?
A: BioCote® powder coating incorporates a silver-based anti-microbial agent within the manufacturing process so that all powder coated surfaces will have anti-microbial properties.
Q: Does it effect the properties of the product?
A: BioCote® has no effect on the mechanical or physical properties of the treated product apart from imparting excellent anti-microbial properties.
Q: Which bacteria is BioCote® actually effective against?
A: BioCote® is effective against a wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria as well as moulds and fungi.
Q: Is BioCote® effective against MRSA and other antibiotic resistant bacteria?
A: Yes, BioCote® does not function in the same way as antibiotics and therefore, to date, no bacteria have become resistant to BioCote® as they have become resistant to some antibiotics.

A: Yes, BioCote® anti-microbial agent is based on Silver which has been used extensively as a anti-microbial agent in the healthcare industry in applications such as wound dressings, surface disinfection, water treatment, eye infections etc.
